Keystone Pillar

A Keystone Pillar is a piece of architecture commonly found in temples that carry alot of favor with their deity. Usually the pillar is a prominent part of the temple, but older temples would hide the structure behind a veil of mystery and tradition. The structure is almost always a pillar, but there are exceptions. Regardless of the shape of the structure, the Keystone acts as a conduit to the astral plain and the temple’s deities. The Keystone is used as a part of rituals, rites, and sometimes is literally the Keystone of the temple providing most of the structural support. As long as a temple stays in the favor of it’s deity and remains undesecrated, the Keystone will appear in perfect condition, but upon desecration or the temple losing it’s way, the Keystone will lose it’s connection to it’s deity and it’s true age will show, and depending on it’s age may turn entirely to dust.
